The Tach jr.
A microprocessor controlled, low cost, 4 digit LED tachometer that will read
from 15 rpms to 90,000 rpms. It fits  inside a Serpac ( Mouser IR case # 635-M-6B).
Because of its small size, any case will work
fine. (We advise using a dark case
for this instrument.)

Tach jr. prototype
The Tach jr. in a RS case. Don't be misled by the picture, the read out
is crystal clear, sharp and easy to read.
To keep the cost down there is no turns counter option like the Tach Plus.
However, the Tach jr. is a very high quality, accurate instrument with every part
chosen for optimum performance just like the Tach Plus and like the Tach plus it
reads a reflective strip off a rotating shaft from a distance of 4 to 8 inches.
It runs from two AA Alkaline batteries or a 4.5 to 6 volt wall transformer.
It will work with the remote too!
How accurate is the Tach jr.? We used NIST instruments to calibrate it with
less than 4 rpms error in 10,000. You can expect the same accuracy even if
you build the kit yourself with little experience.
